Starting in 2007, I have experimented with the design & implementation of various inquiry and action frameworks.

Click here to view the original (2008) flowchart, which I presented to an audience at the NCTE Convention that year in San Antonio, TX. Note that this flowchart was situated within a curriculum that focused first on Psychology and Literature and then on War and Literature. Inquiry and term paper were completed during Psychology and Literature; action projects were developed and enacted during War and Literature.

The image above represents the 2013 model, which was implemented in AP Literature and Composition classes and which included focus on acquisition of qualitative research skills. This model included action research.
